Mr. Pecsenye was born in 1929 in Hungary, the son of the late John and Margit Pecsenye. He was a veteran having served in the Hungary Army. Mr. Pecsenye was director of the cooking staff at his Hungarian Social Club, loved cooking big pots of chicken soup, made his own wine, always looked forward to butchering pigs and making his own sausage and having a pig roast. He was quite the handyman and traveled often to his home country of Hungary. A loyal husband, father, grandfather, and brother that is loved and will be missed.
Mr. Pecsenye married Pearl Zombor on June 24, 1957 in Flint, Michigan.
Surviving with his loving wife of 60 years are daughters, Pearl Peck (Raymond) of Woodstock, Virginia and Suzanna Demski (Kevin) of Ashburn, Virginia; grandson, Matthew William Demski of Ashburn, Virginia; and sister, Sarika Kovy of Hungary.
Mr. Pecsenye was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael John Demski.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 10 am to 11 am on Tuesday at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel. A funeral service will follow the gathering at 11 am. Entombment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park Mausoleum.
