Donivan Wilson, Jr., 89, of Frederick County, Virginia, died Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at Blue Ridge Hospice Inpatient Care Center.
Mr. Wilson was born in 1927, in Staunton, Virginia, the son of the late Adele Meadows and Donivan Wilson, Sr. He was a Tool and Die Maker with Abex, retiring after 42 years of service. After retirement, he worked at Opequon Presbyterian Church serving for 9 years.
He married Betty Ann Lewis on July 7, 1952, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Winchester, Virginia.
Surviving in addition to his wife,are his sons, Donivan Wilson, III, and wife, Lynn, of Mountain Home, Idaho, Vincent Ardell Wilson and Anthony Erwin Wilson and wife, Becky, all of Frederick County, Virginia; grandchildren, Jennifer Casey, Donivan Wilson, Alan Wilson, Sarah Wilson, Tara Pitcock, and Katera Savasten; great grandchildren, Jackson and Ryder Casey, Emma Pitta, Gavin Seal, Austin Wilson; his sister, Cora Mae Talbot of Boone, North Carolina; and brother, Charles Pritchard Wilson, of Winchester, Virginia.
Along with his parents, his brother, Fred Anthony Wilson, preceded him in death.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, with Reverend David Witt officiating. A reception will follow at the Omps Reception Center, Omps Amherst Chapel. Interment will be private at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Donivan’s name to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 West Cork Street, Suite 405, Winchester, Virginia, 22601.
