Dorothea Alice Clark, age 86, of Winchester, Virginia, went to be with her Savior, Lord Jesus, on Friday, November 17, 2017, at her residence.
Mrs. Clark was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Arthur and Edna Bloom. Dorothea was a graduate of Cheltenham High School, Pennsylvania and attended college for two years. She wrote for a local newspaper and worked as a florist before getting married and becoming a homemaker and mother. She played piano and organ at several churches, sang in the choir and was choir director. She taught Sunday school and Ecology classes. She was President of Church Women United in Connecticut. Dorothea enjoyed spoiling her children and especially her grandchildren with love. She was the perfect hostess for many family, friends, guests and church gatherings.
Dorothea married Nelson Haines Clark, Jr. on November 4, 1961 in Pennsylvania.
Surviving in addition to her husband is a daughter, Bonnie Elizabeth Kyek and her husband, Stanley of Winchester, Virginia; a son, Nelson H. Clark, III and his wife, Maria of Winchester, Virginia; and four grandchildren, Elizabeth Kyek, Thomas Kyek, Sophia Clark, and Avah Clark.
A visitation for family and friends will be conducted on Monday, November 20, 2017 from 6:00 until 7:00 pm at Omps Amherst Chapel.
A funeral service will follow the visitation at 7:00 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Luke Shope officiating. Interment will be in Culpeper National Cemetery on Tuesday, November 21, 2017, at 12:00 PM.
