Drew Allen Donald, 46, of Stephens City, Virginia died Monday, October 24, 2016 at Winchester Medical Center.
Drew was born in 1970 in Winchester, Virginia, the son of Leroy and Rebecca Donald. He graduated from Ooltewah High School in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Class of 1988 and Lake City Community College in Lake City, Florida having studied Agronomy. Drew’s greatest passion was playing the guitar (electric and acoustic) and played in different bands over the years. His all-time favorite band was Metallica. He enjoyed attending concerts, fishing, camping, cooking and BBQ’ing…just being outdoors. Drew took a liking to older cars and owned a 1967 GTO. He was very close and competitive with his twin brother, Eric. He was very talented with mechanical drawing for which he earned a scholarship in Orange Park, Florida. Friendships were important to Drew and he always kept in contact with his friends from Florida and Chattanooga, Tennessee. Drew was employed at Blue Ridge Shadows as a Golf Course Technician.
Surviving with his parents are brother, Eric C. Donald; uncles, Steve Boettner (Lueanna), Mark Boettner; aunts, Joy Racey (Paul) and Shirley VandeVisser; and numerous cousins.
Drew was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, John L. and Grace Boettner; paternal grandparents, Delmar and Delores Donald; uncles, John L. Boettner, Jr. and Larry VandeVisser; and his four legged companion, Doc.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel. A graveside service will follow the visitation at Shenandoah Memorial Park in Winchester, Virginia.
Memorial contributions in memory of Drew to honor Doc may be made to Winchester SPCA, 115 Featherbed Lane, Winchester, Virginia 22601.

Drew I love and misses you my brother.

Im sorry to hear about the passing of drew i met him and eric knew they a short period of time they was always willing to help any one in need my thoughts and prayers go out to the family

Drew was a awesome friend if Drew was your friend there was nothing he wood not do or you. I can remember Drew coming down to visit when a friend of ours brother had past he help to plant a tree in memory of him. He was really a caring person. I wanted to pass on my deepest apologies to Eric and his mother and father that I was not able to come up there for the service but they are in my thoughts and prayers and I do pass on my deepest condolences I know it hurts because I've been there and it is very very hard to lose a loved one that is that close to you you will be in my thoughts and prayers love you all.

I will always have some great memories of Drew. We had some great times together. My fondest memory is the time to took me for a "fast" ride in your GTO. Still the fastest car I've ever rode in! Great memories from our time living in Orange Park with you and Eric. I wish I'd been able to get up to Winchester and see you. Rest In Peace Drew. You will be forever missed! My prayers for Leroy, Becky, and Eric.

I am so crushed by your passing. You were a brother to me for almost 35 years and I loved you dearly. You literally saved my life back in '89 and I don't know if I ever told you "thank you" enough. You were ALWAYS there for me and forever had my back. I looked up to you man. Some of my most precious memories are the times we'd sit and listen to music (especially Metallica ha-ha) and discuss politics, girls, guitars, guns, and the mysteries of life. I am heartbroken and I wish I would have told you one more time how much I loved you brotherman. Those of us who knew you best will talk of you often and cherish your memory. Peace to you Drew, my dear friend, I will miss you.
