George Tucknott, 77, of Cross Junction, Virginia passed away Monday, October 2, 2017 at Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Tucknott was born in 1940 in Queens, New York, the son of the late George H. Tucknott, Sr. and Rosella Tucknott. He was a graduate of Huntington High School and a veteran of the United States Marines, achieving the rank of Corporal, and a sharpshooter. Mr. Tucknott was a manager at General Telephone Company in Fort Wayne, Indiana, retiring after 35 years of service.
Mr. Tucknott married Miriam Werling Houser on May 14, 1998 on Lake Michigan.
Surviving with his wife and mother is brother, Kenneth Tucknott of Biloxi, Mississippi; nephew, Shawn Tucknott; stepdaughters, Stephanie Reid (Andy) of Indianapolis, Indiana and Amanda Robertson (David) of Alexandria, Virginia; two step granddaughters and four step grandsons.
Along with his father, George was preceded in death by nephew, Dean Tucknott.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 2 pm to 3 pm on Saturday, October 14th, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with a Memorial Service at 3 pm with Reverend Don Den Hartog officiating. A continued time of fellowship and food will follow the service at 239 Fairway Circle, Cross Junction, Virginia.
