Gerald “Jerry” Lynn White, 76, of Frederick County, Virginia died Saturday, October 7, 2017 at Green Valley Commons Assisted Living.
Mr. White was born in 1941 in Washington, D.C., the son of the late Marvin C. White, Sr. and Ruth V. White.
He was a press operator/painter at Lear Corporation, retiring in 2003. Mr. White was also owner/operator of White’s Highway Market and White’s Grocery, he also managed Bonanza Steak House. He was an avid collector of antiques, cars, and guns. Jerry was a NASCAR enthusiast and a huge fan of Dale Earnhardt, Sr. He was a member of Boyce Baptist Church.
Surviving is a daughter, Cheryl L. Bohrer (Chris); son, Mark S. White (Melissa); grandchildren, Megan and Joshua Bohrer, and Codey White; brother, Robert White; and dear friend, Loretta Michael and her two grandchildren, Jordan and Jackson.
Mr. White was preceded in death by a brother, Marvin “Jimmy” White, Jr. and grandson, Cole White.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 6 pm to 8 pm on Thursday at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 am on Friday at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel with Reverend Dr. Ben Jenkins officiating. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park, Winchester, Virginia. A time of food and fellowship will follow at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jeff White, Mark Orndorff, Terry Strosnider, Carl Alan Fishel, Edward (Buddy) Fishel, and Gary Smith.
