Gladys W. Mauzy, 87, of Winchester, Virginia, died Thursday, February 22, 2018, at Blue Ridge Hospice Inpatient Care Center.
Mrs. Mauzy was born in 1930, in Charles Town, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Katherine B. and Nora L. Schull. She was a hairdresser for over 45 years and later became the owner and operator of Pat’s Beauty Shop, which she ran for 25 years until her retirement. Mrs. Mauzy was a member of Winchester Church of God.
She married William Clark Mauzy in 1972, he preceded her in death.
Surviving are her sons, William H. Newlin and Roy B. White; grandchildren, Richard A. Newlin and Jonathan B. White and 2 great grandchildren.
Along with her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her son, Edgar S. Newlin; sisters, Virginia L. Nelson, Linda B. Copeland, Margaret M. Yowell and her brother, Richard Shull.
The family will receive friends on Sunday evening, from 6:00-8:00 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel.
A funeral service will be conducted at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Monday, at 11:00 AM with Pastor Kent Woodward officiating. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park, Frederick County, Virginia. Pallbearers will be William Newlin, Dick Murdock, Richard Newlin, Jimmy Spence, J.T. Spence and Mike Darr.
