Harold Morgan Crawford, 87, of Winchester, Virginia passed away Thursday, January 4, 2018, at his home with his wife, Caregiver (Teresa Hill) and family by his side.
Mr. Crawford was born in 1930 in Lake Butler, Florida, the son of the late Hiram and Retha Crawford. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Korean conflict in the 47th Infantry Division, achieving the rank of Private First Class and being awarded the Bronze Star and the U.S. National Medal. Mr. Crawford was an automotive mechanic in Florida and in Warrenton, Virginia. He attended Winchester Church of God.
He married Carolyn Elizabeth Bass on February 18, 1956 in Dunedin, Florida.
Surviving with his wife of 61 years is a brother, Hiram “H.C.” Crawford (Renee): sister, Betty Lee Robinson (Jim); grandchildren, Zach (Lauren) and Christopher Crawford (Sable), Heidi (Deryk), and Cassandra Kingsbury (Jim JR) and Anthea Gavett (Boomer); great grandchildren, Henry, Raylin, Olivia, Isaiah, Josiah, Micah, Heavenly, Hunter and Valicity,and Colten. He had several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Crawford was preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa Carol Pereagory; sons, David Eugene and Sampson ”Sam” Harold Crawford; grandson, Robert Crawford; sisters, Opal Juanita Wildman, Veda Mae Stiff, and Murlene Long; and brother, Jack Crawford.
All services will be private. Arrangements are being handled by Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
