Hilda Janice Taylor, 77, of Winchester, Virginia, died Monday, August 22, 2016, at Blue Ridge Hospice.
Ms. Taylor was born in 1939 in Phenix City, Alabama, the daughter of the late Annie P. and Curtis L. Lisle, Sr. She graduated from high school at Turner Private School in Columbus, Georgia. She loved to cook Sunday dinners, yard sales and flea markets, she would go out to eat a lot in her later years, liked collectibles (specifically clocks), loved to work outside and prided herself in her house (flowers and gardening). Also, she had recently joined the Fraternal Order of the Eagles. She loved Foxy, her faithful companion, a little long-haired Chihuahua. But most of all, she loved her kids and her family and she had a special love for Tiffany Rae Taylor (her young granddaughter).
Ms. Taylor is survived by her three sons, Raymond Taylor (Renee Ross) of Winchester, VA, Gary Taylor (Evelyn Ritter) of Winchester, VA, and Terry Taylor (Cindy Klahre) of Winchester, VA; daughter, Mary Ann Taylor (Ronnie Buhl) of Winchester, VA; brother, Lamar Lisle (Jeannette) of Smiths, AL; two sisters, Jackie Buckingham (David) of Phenix City, AL and Debra Williams (Stephen) of Salem, AL; grandson, Gary Taylor, Jr. of Winchester, VA; and granddaughter, Nicole L. Carattini (Andy) of Florida; and great-grandchildren Sophie and Chase Carattini of Florida.
Ms. Taylor was preceded in death by her three brothers, James Lisle, Donald Lisle, and Gerald Lisle; sister, Ann McIntyre; and granddaughter, Tiffany Rae Taylor.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 25, 2016 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel.
A funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel with Reverend Joan Rainsberger officiating. Interment will follow at Shenandoah Memorial Park, Winchester, VA.
Serving as pallbearers will be Gary Taylor, Ray Taylor, Raymond Taylor, Terry Taylor, A.J. Klahre, and Jimmy Swisher,
