Jack Arnold Seckman, 78, of Frederick County, Virginia, died Saturday, April 23, 2016, at his home.
Mr. Seckman was born in McElroy District, West Virginia, in 1937, the son of the late Nora M. and Guy V. Seckman. He was a graduate of Tridelphia High School, Wheeling, West Virginia, Class of 1956. Mr. Seckman was a veteran having served in the United States Marine Corps achieving the rank of PFC. He was a retired Supervisor of manufacturing with Huntington Alloys in Huntington, West Virginia. He was 32nd degree Mason as well as an active member of the Kernstown United Methodist Church. Jack was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to many. He can be forever remembered for his love of faith, family, and the great outdoors. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He married Frances Jean “Jeanne” Ransom on June 24, 1962, in Huntington, West Virginia.
Surviving is his daughter, Kimberly Lee and her husband, Stacy, of Winchester, Virginia; a son, Brent A. Seckman and his wife, Andrea, of King, North Carolina; four grandchildren; Hillary, Rachael, Alexandra and Benjamin, sister, Cleta Shook, of Wheeling, West Virginia; brother, Lewis Seckman and wife, Helen, of Cambridge, Ohio; sister-in-law, Mary A. Nelson of New York City; and brother-in-law, Donald W. Ransom of Quechee, Vermont, as well as many extended family members and close friends.
Two sisters, Jean Solak and Betty Dudash, preceded him in death.
A Memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 6, 2016, at Kernstown United Methodist Church with Pastor Aaron Fitch officiating. Military Honors will be afforded by V.F.W. Post #2123.
