James “Jim” E. Ramey, Sr., 83, of Winchester, Virginia passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2018, at his home with his wife by his side.
Mr. Ramey was born in 1934, the son of the late Ernest and Vernie Ramey. He was a veteran of the United States Army, stationed in Germany. Mr. Ramey retired from a government base in Warrenton, Virginia. Prior to this employment he worked in manufacturing at Avtex. Mr. Ramey was a member of the VFW 1860. He loved the Dallas Cowboys and the New York Yankees. He was baptized and grew up in the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Front Royal, Virginia, but was recently a member of Bethel Evangelical Lutheran Church since 1995. Most of all, Jim was a wonderful and loving husband.
Mr. Ramey married his love of 23 years, Brenda Clark, on August 29, 2014 in Frederick County, Virginia.
Surviving with his wife is daughter, Susan D. DiLandro (Scott) of Front Royal, Virginia and son, James “Eddie” E. Ramey, Jr. (Barbara) of Woodstock, Virginia; brother, Ralph Ramey (Sally) of Front Royal, Virginia; two grandchildren, several great grandchildren, step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren.
Mr. Ramey was preceded in death by his first wife, one brother, two sisters, one granddaughter, and one step-granddaughter.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 12:00 to 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Bethel Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2077 N. Frederick Pike, Winchester, Virginia followed by a memorial service at 1:00 pm with The Reverend Dr. David N. Young officiating.
