Jamie was born in 1980 in Charleston, South Carolina, the daughter of Randy Quick and the late Joan Ruiz; stepdaughter of Teresa Quick and Alan Ruiz. She graduated high school in DeWitt, Michigan. Jamie was a waitress with many restaurants, and most enjoyed her time at TGI Fridays. She loved the outdoors, had a great sense of humor, and loved animals especially her dog, Leyla. Jamie was a classic rock fan, especially the Grateful Dead and Phish. She enjoyed traveling, loved the beach and boating. Above all else her greatest love and joy were her children, they are and always will be everything to her.
Surviving with her father and step-parents is fiance and best friend, Thomas Witt; daughter, Zain Elizabeth Quick of Stephens City, Virginia and son, Landon Matthew Doughtery of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; sister, Samantha Ruiz of New York, New York; brothers, Christopher Ruiz of Seattle, Washington; Stephen J. and David M. Quick of Centerville, Ohio; and many extended family and friends.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 6 pm to 7 pm on Friday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with a memorial service to follow at 7 pm.
