Kathryn W. Doran, 78, of Winchester, Virginia beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, July 20, 2017.
Mrs. Doran was born in 1938 in Winchester, Virginia, the daughter of the late Zirkle and Bessie Williams. She was a graduate of James Wood High School, Class of 1957. Mrs. Doran was a secretary with Winchester City Public Schools, from where she retired. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association and a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Winchester, Virginia. Mrs. Doran devoted her life to her family and loved to cook. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.
She married Michael E. Doran on June 25, 1960 at Grace Lutheran Church in Winchester, Virginia.
Surviving with her beloved husband of 57 years are children, Michael A. Doran (Donna), Roxanne Doran Curtin, and Anthony E. Doran (Corrie) all of Winchester, Virginia; grandchildren, Ben Curtin, Ali Doran, Michael C. Doran, Clint Doran, Lori Boswell, Lindsey Udasco, and Whitney Snapp; and brother Charles Z. Williams (Connie) of Winchester, Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Gladys Williams and brother, Richard Williams; and grandchild, Jonathan J. Curtin.
A visitation reception for family and friends will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday at Omps Reception Center, Amherst Chapel.
A committal service will be at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday at Mount Hebron Cemetery, Winchester, Virginia.
