Kenneth Lloyd Merryweather, 60, of Lake Frederick, Virginia, died Friday, December 1, 2017, at his home.
Mr. Merryweather was born in Watsonville, California in 1957, the son of the late Gwendolyn Mae and Austin Oliver Merryweather. He was a retired Senior Project Manager in the telecommunications field. He enjoyed cooking, gardening, music and fishing. Mr. Merryweather was an avid Bay Area sports fan, as well as the Nationals, and loved to read and travel. His greatest joy in life was his family, which includes three grandchildren. Of course, his two little girls Lilly and Abbey never left his side.
He married Lori Ann Butterfield and they began their life together raising their family in California and almost 20 years ago relocated to Virginia.
Surviving with his wife is his daughter, Kimberly Merryweather of Ashburn, Virginia; sons, Nicholas Merryweather of Leesburg, Virginia and Daniel Merryweather of Ashburn, Virginia; three grandchildren, Kourtlyn Merryweather, Ryder Mixon and Callan Chapman; his sister, Deborah Stone (Eric) of Kelseyville, California and brothers, Gerald Merryweather (Paula) of Napa, California, William Merryweather (Teri) of Lake County, California and Ronald Merryweather (Cindy) of Kelseyville, California, including numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his brother, Douglas Merryweather.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, December 8th at 11:00 am at Ebenezer Cemetery, 20421 Airmont Road, Bluemont, Virginia.
Local arrangements are being handled by Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, Winchester, Virginia.
