Linda Kathryn Ivy, 71, of Frederick County, Virginia passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at Winchester Medical Center.
Ms. Ivy was born in 1945 in Ranger, Texas, the daughter of the late O.D. Thomas and Kathryn G. Ivy and stepdaughter of the late Sherman Ivy. She graduated from Herndon High School and Winchester Nursing School. Ms. Ivy was a Licensed Practical Nurse at Fairfax Hospital, retiring in 2007. She loved her profession and the joy of raising her animals which was a big part of her life. Ms. Ivy enjoyed horseback riding, reading, and all genres of music.
Surviving is a daughter, Heather Heglar of Winchester, Virginia; sister, Norma Ivy of Winchester, Virginia; and brothers, David Thomas of California and Johnny Thomas of Hawaii.
All services will be private.

RIP LINDA. YOU WILL BE MISSED . GOD BLESS YOUR FAMILY. WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER THE GOOD DAYS AT INOVA WHEN WE WORK TOGETHER.

Linda was a high school friend. I hadn't seen her for many years, but have strong memories of her smile and her caring, bedside manner. She will be remembered at the annual Herndon High School Alumni Picnic next summer.

Linda was a strong woman with a passion for life. She loved being on the farm and taking care of her animals. She will be missed!
