Pat - I'm so glad you called me about the passing of Lonnie. My warmest condolences to you & your family. I didn't know you all long, but both of you were so generous with your time &, as you know, Lonnie & I had a shared love for Lionel trains. I set up a huge set that I picked up here & there, as well as what I got from Lonnie, for my grandson in a 12x16 shed I bought & added a heat pump, carpet, electric, lights, etc. so it was his home away from home. That was out place. My grandson has now started college so, unfortunately, trains are no longer a part of his life but Lonnie started the entire project for me. Only time can help the passing of a great love & I'm sure you all are missing him every day in many ways. The Lord is with you & Lonnie is watching over you & will be waiting for you when it's your turn. Warmest regards, Candy

Pat and Amy, We’re so sorry for your loss. Lonnie was such a big part of our daughter’s growing-up years. She loved being with your family and sharing adventures with Amy. She would come back with excited tales of the places you visited, and always spoke of how nice Lonnie was to her. She still has the doll furniture he made her and it will remain a family keepsake that will be passed on. Know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. Marty and Christine Crutsinger

Mrs. Beckwith and Amy, Words cannot express how saddened I am to hear of the loss of Mr. Beckwith. He was such a kind, loving, and generous person who always made me feel at home on my visits to your house growing up. I can still see him watching us play basketball, or driving us to Silver Diner for a treat. I know that such a beautiful soul is with his God. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. Kira

My dear Pat and Amy, I am so sad for the loss of your sweet husband and father. How hard to lose such a loved one, even knowing he is with the Lord and you will see him again. I remember Long as such a kind and friendly man. You know, we still have the stool he made for Katie with Addy the American girl doll on it and the beautiful armoire to but all the doll clothes in. The grand girls use the stool here at my house and we keep the clothes here too. Every time I see them I have thought of him, and now they will be even more special. He will continue to delight another generation of girls and his memory lives on. Much love to you both. Emily

Dear Pat, Amy, and Gary, I join you in grieving the loss of your husband, your father, and my friend. Over the twenty years that we lived next door to each other in Arlington, I collected a house full of memories that I will long cherish: visiting with Lonnie when he walked Freddie, unwrapping handmade and hand painted Christmas decorations that I still enjoy putting out each year, going out to dinner at the local diner, helping each other with various yard tasks, sharing holiday meals, and chatting across the fence. I will recall his love of vintage television shows, trains, and the blue rocking chair in the corner of the room. And, I will remember Lonnie's laughter, his devotion to his family, and his character. I know that you and your extended family will feel this loss deeply, but I hope that you can take comfort in knowing how much he loved you and how much that love was returned in kind. With my deepest sympathy and condolences, DeAndra
