Mitchell Ray DeHaven, 80, of Frederick County, Virginia passed away Monday, February 5, 2018, surrounded by his loving family at Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. DeHaven was born in 1937 in Frederick County, Virginia, the son of the late Melvin Ray DeHaven and Agnus DeHaven. He was a mechanic at National Fruit Product Company, Inc. Mr. DeHaven enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of Winchester Frederick County Conservation Club. A loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother that will be missed and was the most fun Pappy ever!
Surviving with his wife, Mae, are daughters, Tammy Fuller of Frederick County, Virginia and Becky DeHaven (Skip) of Frederick County, Virginia; son, Ricky DeHaven of Frederick County, Virginia; grandchildren, Ashley Fuller, Stephanie Adams (Travis), Jessica Frye (Jeffery), and Matthew DeHaven; great grandchildren, June Adams, Trevor Frye, and Kinley Frye; sister, Louella DeHaven; and brother, John DeHaven.
Mr. DeHaven was preceded in death by a sister, Ada Arnold and brothers, Junior, Roy, and Maynerd DeHaven.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 6 pm to 8 pm on Thursday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A funeral service will be at 11 am on Friday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with Pastor Glenn Welch officiating. Entombment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park Mausoleum, Winchester, Virginia.
Serving as pallbearers will be Ronnie Chilcott, Dickie Milburn, Matt DeHaven, David DeHaven, Roger Riggleman, and Greg Shanholtz.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Mitchell may be made to American Cancer Society, 124 Park Street SE, Vienna, Virginia 22180.
