Pastor Jack “J.K.” Kenneth Wampler, Sr. 88, of Frederick County, Virginia, left his earthly home to be with his LORD and Savior on June 15th, 2018.
Pastor Wampler was born in Lenoir City, Tennessee, on August 10, 1929, to Linnie and James Wampler. On December 24, 1949, he married the love of his life, Polly J. Hooker. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Janice Miller, and a son, Jack K. Wampler, Jr. (Peggy). He also leaves behind 4 grandchildren: Andrea Dezan (Lane), Jason Orndorff (Lynette), Megan Pierce, and Jordan Wampler; as well as 4 great-grandchildren and a sister, Bea Reynolds (Jim). He was preceded in death by his parents, 12 brothers, and 2 of his 3 sisters.
Jack served as pastor of Shenandoah Farms Baptist Church from 1989 -2013, after serving as an associate pastor at Calvary Baptist Church in Winchester, Virginia. He was also a former president of Clear Brook Volunteer Fire & Rescue. Through the years, he owned and operated Triangle Log Company and Wampler’s Homes (Stephenson, Virginia). However, his first love was always serving the LORD. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Visitation will be held at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel in Winchester, Virginia, on Wednesday, June 20th from 5-7 pm, with a funeral service to follow at 7 pm. Pastor Calvin Brownlow of Shenandoah Farms Baptist Church will officiate. Interment will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 21st, at Mount Hebron Cemetery in Winchester, Virginia.
