Mr. Musick was born in 1941 in Abingdon, Virginia, the only son of the late Garnett and Gladys Musick. He was a graduate of William King High School in Abingdon, Virginia and graduated from Emory and Henry College earning a Bachelor of Arts degree. Mr. Musick earned a Certificate in Criminal Justice from Lord Fairfax Community College and was a graduate of the first Winchester Citizens Police Academy. He was an educator with Washington County, Virginia public schools, worked for Winchester Frederick County Department of Public Health, and retired from American Woodmark Corporation. Mr. Musick was also a security guard with Valley Health. He was a member of the Winchester/Frederick County Jaycees; a coach and manager for 8 years with Winchester Babe Ruth Baseball; and volunteered for 21 years with Volunteer in Policing in Winchester. Mr. Musick was a member of Calvary Baptist Church for 53 years, where he was an ordained Deacon; served on the Board of Trustees; a member of the Men’s Bible Class; and served on numerous church committees. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather that is missed and will always be loved.
He married Patsy Goodpasture on June 1, 1963 in Bristol, Tennessee.
Surviving with his wife of 55 years are sons, Paul Eric Musick (Leslie) of Aldie, Virginia and Edward Randall Musick (Angela) of Vinton, Virginia; and grandchildren, Elizabeth Musick Hess (Eric) of Sterling, Virginia, Benjamin M. Musick and Lexi N. Musick, both of Aldie, Virginia.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 4 pm to 6 pm on Sunday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A funeral service will be at 4 pm on Monday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with Pastor Philip King and Pastor Michael Blitch officiating. A reception will follow the service at Omps Reception Center, Amherst Chapel. A graveside service will be Wednesday at 2 pm in Knollkreg Cemetery, Abingdon, Virginia with Pastor Jim Fuller officiating.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Tucker, Terry Schrader, Rob Haskiell, Lt. William Griffith, Bob Heffern, Larry McPherson, members of the Winchester Police Department and Volunteers in Policing.
