Rodger E. Jobe, 79, of Clear Brook, Virginia died Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Jobe was born in 1938 in Clear Brook, Virginia, the son of the late William and Elsie Jobe. He was a brick salesman in Manassas before retiring in 2004. Mr. Jobe was a veteran having served in the United States Army. He was a loving, faithful husband who worked hard to provide for his family; adored his grandchildren and great grandchildren; he was a homebody…a family man who enjoyed being with his wife. Together, he and his wife had numerous pets and animals that they loved dearly over the years. Mr. Jobe enjoyed gardening and farming on a small scale, raising chickens, and enjoyed old western movies as well as reading western books/novels. He was gifted with his hands, being an excellent carpenter and was an avid Redskins fan. Mr. Jobe was a member of Valley Bible Church in Stephens City, Virginia.
Mr. Jobe married Phyllis Eaton on September 5, 1959 in Frederick County, Virginia.
Surviving with his wife are daughters, Teresa J. Wisecarver of Augusta, West Virginia and Karen L. Drenth (Thomas) of Hart, Michigan; grandchildren, Jessie (Donald), Joshua (Kayleigh), Caleb, Anna, Jobeth (David), Ross (Whitney); great grandchildren, Levi, Logan, Evie, Serenity, Jeremy, Gwendolyn, and Eleanor who is on the way; sisters, Oneta Reid of Stephens City, Virginia, Peggy Marcus of Stephenson, Virginia, Mary Shenk of Cross Junction, Virginia and Connie Oates of Winchester, Virginia; brothers, Donald Jobe of New Market, Virginia and Allen Jobe of Winchester, Virginia.
Mr. Jobe was preceded in death by his parents, son-in-law, Jeff Wisecarver; sister, Annabelle Collins; brothers, Fred and Richard Jobe.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday at 2:00 PM at Valley Bible Church, 578 Double Church Road, Stephens City, Virginia with Pastor Cal Lowder officiating.
