Rowland was a very close and devoted friend and thought it normal to put the needs of his friends ahead of himself. We met during our tenure at Duval Medical Center/University Hospital of Jacksonville. I think of him often as I did today and am so sadden to read of his passing. Although it has been sometime, I know that you still miss him, therefore I pray that the continual Peace of God be upon you as the years pass by.

My condolences and prayers to the Goff family. Carolina Blue has lost a True Son! When I moved to SE NC in 04 Daly asked me where, and I said a little ole town in SE NC that he probably never heard of (Shallotte). Well, with his little chuckle, told me to ask about town about Jim Vardom, who was Daly's backfield mate at NC! And I did, and most that knew Jim Vardom, knew about Daly Goff!! I've lost a great friend. I am most proud to have my name "First" on The Daly Goff Trophy at WCC! Steve Denney

I will never forget the time that Bruce and I stayed with you and Daley showed us the secret to making perfectly cooked scrambled eggs. I almost always think of him whenever I make scrambled eggs. I can still hear him say... "You need to turn the temperature down." I've always admired the love and respect the two of you had for each other. Love you, Kath!

I don't golf, but Dr. Goff's careful and precise talents have enabled me to continue on this path through life for 22 more years, and counting. A lovable, honorable and truly indispensable man. RIP, Dr. Goff.

I do remember a lot of other things. I spent a week with Daley in Dunn, when they lived across the street from the Wellons and I was still in middle school. Watched him play baseball and was in awe of his talents. He was the first player I had ever seen catch pop up flies at Short Stop behind his back! Also had the opportunity to see him play at Carolina. In addition to his athletic abilities, he also had the intelligence to win a Moorehead Scholarship. His athletic abilities (hand/eye coordination), combined with the intelligence and you just knew" that he would be a brilliant surgeon. Proud to be part of the "Goff Clan". Capt. Bob Melvin USCG(ret) son of Eunice Goff

I remember when my son was having dinner with friends before the homecoming dance in about 1997, Dr. Goff was eating in the same restaurant. He didn't know any of them, but he picked up the tab for the group of teenagers! They were so surprised and grateful. Such a nice thing to do! Thinking of you, Kathy.

Dr. Goff affected every life he touched. He taught me many things when I worked with him. He had some great stories and really cared about his patients, coworkers and family. His legacy will be carried on by all those he touched. I believe he would not want tears at this time but laughter and a good cigar.
Joy Benner Nesselrodt left a message on May 31, 2016:
With the skill given to him by God, Dr. Goff lengthened my husband's life by 20 healthy and happy years. My family and I are forever grateful.

"Johnny Cash" and I go back a long way; I sure will miss him. I remember the good times we had at One Beach Drive after a hard day of work at Bayfront Medical Center. He tried to show me how to clog, but it was useless. We tried to outdo each other in useless trivia; but he alway's won. He was alway's fun to be around. One in a million. He will be missed.
Peace of mind is a call away. We're here when you need us most.

Carolina blue is shedding tears for a native son. I have fond memories of our golf days at Winchester CC. An extremely generous man. Great competitor. And he gave new life to many with the skill of his hands as a cardiac surgeon. We will miss him on this Earth.
