On March 10th, 2018, Sharon Fields Stickman danced into the Kingdom of Heaven. Although her time on earth was cut short, her inner beauty, radiant joy, love of family, passion for life, and incredible heart touched many family and friends, and left us all with a never-ending love for her. Sharon was a devout Christian, sister, wife, mother, grandmother (Nannie), and cherished friend to anyone who crossed her path. Her positive attitude, competitive nature, and compassion for family and friends live on in the legacy she has left on earth!
Born in 1947, Sharon was the second child of James Irving and Elizabeth “Libbie” Fields. She was a 1966 Graduate of Loudoun Valley High School. On July 6th, 1974, Sharon married John George Stickman. Surrounded by family, Sharon passed away peacefully in her home in Winchester, Va. She was preceded in death by James Andrew Phillips, Elizabeth “Libbie” Fields, James Fields and Martha Fields. She is survived by her husband, John, brother, James I. Fields, sister-in-law, Carolyn R. Fields, sister, Janie Fields Ellison, brother-in-law, R.H. Ellison, daughter, Shannon Raye Lanham, son-in-law, Charles Ray Lanham, daughter, Jena Nicole Pierce, son, John Dwyer Stickman, daughter-in-law, Amanda Melvin Stickman, and five grandchildren – Eryck Scott Pierce, Abigail Grace Lanham, Logan Patrick Pierce, Raegan Elizabeth Lanham and Colton Andrew Lanham, Nephews – James Fields, Derrick and Branden Ellison.
Sharon’s family would like to invite all loved ones and friends to attend her Celebration of Life on Saturday, March 17th, 2018 at the Greenway Spirit and Word Fellowship in Stephens City, VA. Visitation is from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM and the service will be held at 1:00 PM with Dr. Robert Vineyard officiating. There will be food and fellowship immediately following the service.
