Thomas “Booty” Franklin Roberts, 84, of Frederick County, Virginia passed away Friday, August 18, 2017 at Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Roberts was born in 1933 in Brunswick, Maryland, the son of the late Earl and Eva Roberts. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Korean Conflict, achieving the rank of Corporal. Mr. Roberts retired from FMC Corporation (an American chemical manufacturing company) and was also associated with Fredericksburg Auto Auction. He was a member of the Elks Lodge, enjoyed listening to country music, a huge fan of John Wayne, and a wonderful baseball player when he was younger. Booty loved all animals especially horses, but his greatest passion was his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. A loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother who will be missed.
Mr. Roberts’ wives, Matilda Roberts and Louise Roberts, preceded him in death.
Surviving is a daughter, Rosemary Wilcox and husband, Bob; son, Dennis Roberts; grandchildren, Michelle McCabe, Samantha Lewis, Jeremiah Roberts, and Stephanie Roberts; nine great grandchildren; sister Dorothy Coates and brother, Earl Roberts; and faithful housekeeper, Sandy Jorgensen.
Along with his parents and wives Mr. Roberts was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Hardy.
Services will be private. Arrangements are being handled by Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
