Wilbur M. Feltner, 98, of Clarke County, Virginia passed away, Monday, April 23, 2018.
Mr. Feltner was born in 1919 in Clarke County, Virginia, the son of the late James T. and Ruth Longerbeam Feltner.
Wil graduated from Berryville High School in 1938, and went to work at Bank of Clarke County on September, 1938. On January 2, 1942, he went to work for Farmers and Merchants National Bank. In 1964 he became President and in 1969 formed F&M National Corporation at which time he became Chairman and CEO. He retired in 2001. Wil served in the Army Air Corps during WWII.
Wilbur M. Feltner married Helen A. Blosser on September 9, 1945. They shared a life of love and were married for 71 years. Helen passed away on March 19, 2017.
Surviving are his daughter, Jill A. Feltner and her husband, David B. Grim; sons, Jeffrey W. Feltner and his wife, Melanie, and Judd M. Feltner and his wife, Shalane; three grandchildren, Judd Lofton and Debbie, Joshua Feltner and his wife, Stephanie and Will Feltner and Tara; four great-grandchildren, Jensen L. Lofton, Teagan and Kinsey Feltner, and Colton Feltner.
Mr. Feltner was preceded in death by his sisters, Vivian L. Moriarity and Ruby J. Mergler, and brother, James T. Feltner, Jr.
Wil and Helen were long time members of First Christian Church.
Wilbur M. Feltner also leaves behind his cherished F&M Family of whom he was so grateful and honored to be a member.
He was a true “Gentleman”.
