Carl “Rodger” Morris, 79, of Frederick County, Virginia passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2019, at home surrounded by his family.
Mr. Morris was born in 1939 in Crozet, Virginia, son of the late Carl and Malinda “Bill” Morris. He was a graduate of Augusta Military Academy in Fort Defiance, Virginia. Mr. Morris retired as owner/operator of First Break Café in Sterling, Virginia.
He married Brenda Drew on April 6, 1973 in Arlington, Virginia.
Surviving with his wife of 46 years are daughters, Malinda Foster (Michael) of New Kent, Virginia and Jada Trocchia (Tony) of Middletown, Virginia; sons, C. Michael Morris (Sandy) of Alexandria, Virginia, Jonathan Morris of Florida, and Carl W. Morris, II of Winchester, Virginia; grandchildren, Samantha and Tori; Nic; Chris, Joey, and Taylor and their mother, Kimberly Mitchell Morris of Haymarket, Virginia; and four great grandchildren.
All services will be private. Arrangements are being handled by Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.

So many fond memories that I can't even count them but one that I will always remember is when News Channel 8 came to First Break to do a story and they interviewed me. I told the reporter I had beaten the owner Rodger Morris by making the 8-ball on the break. Rodger always said, 'why did you have to tell THAT story?' Another is when First Break first opened, we went there 47 days in a row... then we went on vacation. Rodger told us to never do that again and to let him know when we plan to go out of town! He thought something had happened to us! He was a funny, sweet and wonderful man and we will miss him so much.
