Mrs. Engelhardt was born in 1938 in North Carolina, the daughter of the late Gaston and Mary Nolin. She enjoyed classical music, modern gospel music, and was talented in playing the piano and violin; she also enjoyed singing, watching comedy TV and cooking. Mrs. Engelhardt took pride in the family home and enjoyed keeping it clean and organized. Later in life she loved dogs, but her greatest passion was her family and spending time with the grandchildren. Mrs. Engelhardt was a member of Christ Church in South Riding, Virginia.

She married Bert Arthur Engelhardt on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 1982, in Silver Spring, Maryland.

Surviving with her husband are daughters, Cathleen L. Roche of Virginia, Deborah A. Abt (Arthur Dunworth) of Maryland, Carrie Heron of Washington; sons, Matthew L. Roche (Rosemary) and Stephen E. Roche both of Maryland; grandchildren, Alexandra Lovullo (Ryon) of Maryland, Kyle Abt of Colorado, Elizabeth G. Hayes of Virginia, Max Moodie and Jake Bohn, both of Washington; and three great grandchildren.
