Dorothy Mae Sites Crites, 89, of Gainesboro, Virginia passed away on Wednesday, December 19, 2018, at her home.
Mrs. Sites was born in Pansy, West Virginia, the daughter of the late James and Mary Sites. She attended school in Durgon, West Virginia and worked for Doubleday Corporation as a book packer. Mrs. Crites was a member of Round Hill United Methodist Church.
Her husband, Arlie Woodrow Crites, whom she married on March 15, 1945 in Hagerstown, Maryland preceded her in death in 1999.
Surviving is a son, Steve Crites and wife, Bonnie; daughters, Linda Kerns and Barbara Kidwell and husband, Robert (Bob); brothers, Harold and Paul Sites; sister, Helen Flowers; nine grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren.
Along with her parents and husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by children, Tillie and Arlie Ray; daughter-in-law, Karen Pugh Crites; son-in-law, Roger Lee Kerns; brothers, Warnie, James (Sam), and Roscoe (Stanley) Sites; sisters, Vergie Van Meter, Cornie Turner Legge; and grandson, Christopher Kidwell.
A visitation will be from 10 am to 11 am on Saturday at Round Hill United Methodist Church with a funeral service at 11 am with Pastor Larry Craddock officiating. Interment will be in Gainesboro Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Dorothy’s memory may be made to Round Hill United Methodist Church, 2993 Northwestern Pike, Winchester, Virginia 22603.
