Florence “Hoppy” K. White, 84, of Winchester, Virginia, passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2019 at her residence.
Florence was born in 1934 in Frederick County, Virginia, the daughter of the late Garland and Lola Kump. She was a graduate of James Wood High School. Florence was a member of TOPS, she loved working in her flower beds and gardening. Florence enjoyed sewing for family and friends. Florence was a Sunday School teacher, she was also a member of the church choir and assisted with Vacation Bible School. Florence would lead the youth singing every Sunday morning at church.
Her spouse, Earl F. White whom she married on October 13, 1950 preceded her in death on June 8, 2016.
Florence is survived by sons, Earl Franklin White, (Pam) Dennis K. White, (Greg Denton) and Ronald E. White, (Barbara); grandchildren Jenny Boyd, (John), Karen Boyce, (BJ), Lindsey Pozniak, (Matt) and Michelle Johnson, (Kenney); eight great-grandchildren; a sister Betty McDonald and brothers Dumpy Kump, (Kathy) and Kenneth Kump, (Carol). She is preceded in death by two great-grandsons and five siblings.
The family will receive friends from 7 pm – 9 pm on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at New Life Christian Church, 2930 Middle Road, Winchester, Virginia 22602.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 am on Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at New Life Christian Church with Pastor Larry Veach officiating. Entombment will be at Shenandoah Memorial Park Mausoleum.
