Janie Mae Dusing, 71, of Bunker Hill, West Virginia, passed away on Monday, April 29, 2019 at her home.
Mrs. Dusing was born in 1948, the daughter of the late Marcus S. and Kenelia E. Foster. She was a graduate of James Wood High School and attended Inwood Family Worship Center. Mrs. Dusing was a PASS Volunteer at Musselman High School for 8 years and volunteered with CCAP and Loaves and Fishes. Her family home was always open and welcome to friends, family and fellow worshippers. Mrs. Dusing enjoyed baking and loved all types of flowers. Janie’s faith was a very important part of her life and she loved and adored her grandchildren and family.
She married Gerald Douglas “Jerry” Dusing, Sr. on December 2, 1966, in Winchester, Virginia. He preceded her in death on October 27, 2017.
Surviving is her daughter, Sherri Castleman of Inwood, West Virginia; son, Gerald “Doug” Dusing, Jr., and his wife, Jennifer, of Bunker Hill, West Virginia; grandchildren, Brittany Castleman of Inwood, Savannah Dusing and Austin Dusing, both of Bunker Hill; sisters, Joyce Whitacre (Jack) of South Carolina, Judy Parker (Danny) of North Carolina and Jeraldine Landis (Tony) of West Virginia.
Along with her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara Jane Dusing.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Friday, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, with Pastor David Palmer and Reverend Ralph C. Campbell, III officiating. Interment will be in Mount Hebron Cemetery Winchester, Virginia.
