Jerry B. Moore “Pop Pop”, 66, of Middleburg, Virginia passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2019, at Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Moore was born in 1952 in Arlington, Virginia, the son of the late James and Marith Moore. He graduated from Fairfax High School, Class of 1971. Mr. Moore was a veteran of the United States Army, achieving the rank of SPEC 4. He was a self-employed painter. Mr. Moore enjoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors in general. He was an avid Orioles and UVA fan, as well as a NASCAR fan, favorite drivers being Ryan Newman and the late Dale Earnhardt, Sr. Mr. Moore was quite the jokester and loved to scare everyone, but was always putting others first. His greatest passion was his family, especially the grandchildren.
Mr. Moore married Karen Melton on August 21, 1982 in Leesburg, Virginia.
Surviving with his wife are daughters, Jennifer Gray (Jeremy) of Winchester, Virginia, Jamie Sine (Randy) of Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, and Justine Moore of Martinsburg, West Virginia; sons, Jacob Moore (Jess) of Ruckersville, Virginia, and Shane Sheets of Manassas, Virginia; grandchildren, Jeremy Gray, Jr., Joshua Gray, Jackson Gray, Jeffrey Gray all of Winchester, Virginia, Maggie Jade of South Carolina, Nick and Ryleigh of Ruckersville, Virginia; sister, Jane McGyver (Ken) of Turlock, California; and brothers, James Moore, Jr. (Eveline) of Clifton, Virginia, and Johnny Moore (Linda) of Crossville, Tennessee.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening, May 9th, 2019, from 6:00-PM to 8:00 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Friday, May 10th, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, with Mr. John Moore Officiating. Interment will be held following the service at 2:00 PM on Friday, at Quantico National Cemetery, Quantico, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be Randy Sine, Jeremy Gray, Jacob Moore, James Moore, Johnny Moore and Shane Sheets.
