Larry T. Omps
President Larry Omps is more than just a funeral home owner. He also served for eight years as Mayor of Winchester. While mayor, Larry developed sister city relationships with Winchester, England and Ambato, Ecuador. Larry has also served as a member of the Winchester City Council, on Public Safety and Public Works Committees, on the City Finance Committee, as member of the Regional Jail Board and as Chairman of the Regional Juvenile Detention Center for the Winchester area. A graduate of the Staunton Military Academy, Larry served in Vietnam as a Navy hospital corpsman. Larry is an alumnus of John Tyler Community College and was President of the Independent Funeral Homes of Virginia.
Nancy S. Omps
Nancy graduated from Shenandoah College with her Associates Degree in Secretarial Science and a minor in Accounting. She has been actively involved with the funeral service industry working side by side with Larry for over 37 years. Nancy enjoys spending time with her husband Larry, and their three children, and three grandchildren as well as cooking, reading and quilting.
David A. Zimmerman

David Zimmerman has over 20 years of funeral-service experience. David graduated from Ridgeview Christian School and Gupton Jones College of Funeral Service. He resides in Stephens City with his wife, Veronica and three children, Sterling, Landon and Sophia. He attends Winchester Church of God and is active in his childrens’ little league sports teams.

Originally from North East, Pennsylvania, Josh has been geared towards funeral service since a young age. He attended Penn State Erie, the Behrend College for his general education requirements before receiving his diploma in Funeral Service and Embalming from the Pittsburg Institute of Mortuary Science, class of 2008. He graduated Cum Laude and received the Mu Sigma Alpha award for academic proficiency in mortuary school. Josh, his wife Shena, stepdaughter Kiley and newborn baby girl Reagan reside in Winchester, coming here from Carson City, Nevada. As a family, they enjoy spending time together exploring the Winchester and surrounding areas, watching movies, and reading.
Timothy L. Grum

Tim is new to the Winchester community – he and his family relocated here recently from Pennsylvania. Tim was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and graduated high school in 1997. He then attended Boyce Community College and the University of Pittsburgh, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree. He then enrolled and graduated from Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science, in 2002. Tim and his wife, Beth, have two daughters, Kayla and Jenna, and reside in Stephens City. They are members of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. In his spare time he enjoys football, baseball, yard work and spending time with family and friends.

Dona joined the Omps Funeral Home team as a Funeral Director’s Assistant. She is a native of Frederick County, attended James Wood High School, and takes great pride in assisting all the team members in their day-to-day tasks by paying attention to every detail concerning a family’s loss. Dona enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, Ashlynn and Matthew, as well as taking care of her Sheltie companions, Angel and Honey.
Kandis Jenkins has worked at Omps for almost a decade. Omps’s licensed staff relies heavily on her ability to pay attention to virtually every detail. Kandis’s expertise is in day-to-day operations. She is a graduate of Kubasaki High School, in Okinawa, Japan, and attended Lord Fairfax Community College.
Tina graduated from James Wood High School in 1985. She currently resides with her husband, Kirk, in Clearbrook. They have four grown children and five grandchildren. With her free time she enjoys going to Lake Anna to go boating and fishing.

Married to Tina Gordon who is also an Omps Funeral Home employee, he resides in Frederick County, Virginia. Kirk’s job responsibilities include general building, grounds and automotive maintenance. In his spare time, Kirk enjoys hunting, fishing, all things involving the outdoors and spending time with his grandchildren. Kirk is also involved in numerous community service programs that bring attention to wildlife and outdoor conservation.
Frank Funk Jr.
Frank graduated from James Wood High School in 1966. He has been a member of the Omps family for over three years. His position as maintenance allows him to help provide the families with a caring and home-like atmosphere.

Steve graduated from John Handley High School. He has been a member of the Omps family for eight years.

Carol graduated from James Wood High School. With over 20 years of office management experience, she serves as secretary of the Shenandoah Region of the Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA). Her civic involvement includes member and youth leader at the Wesleyan Fellowship Church and also performs in the choir. Carol and her husband, Michael, have two “four-legged” children. Solomon, a 4-year old Cocker Spaniel and Mia, a 2-year old dachshund mix that was rescued.

Gary graduated from the college of Mortuary Science in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1964. After 44 years at Jones Funeral Home, Gary retired, but later came to join the staff at Omps Funeral Home. He is active in the Kiwanis Club and has received Kiwanian of the year in 1968. He is a past member of Winchester Jaycees, having won the Speak Up Award, and was the past president of the American Cancer Society. He also received three Legion of Honors Award from the Kiwanis Clus. He is a member of the Virginia Disaster Team of the Virginia Funeral Directors Association, Jeepster Overlanders Club, Winchester Moose Lodge, Winchester Medical Center Auxillary, and First Baptist Church where he is a member of the sanctuary choir. He has been a foster parent for 7 foster children and 13 exchange students. He has 3 sons, 2-step children, 7 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild.
Mary Ann Pullen
Mary received her Associates Degree in Business Management from Lord Fairfax Community College. She has been active in the funeral services for eight years and takes pride in serving families of the community in their time of need. Mary is currently a member at Bethel Lutheran Church. She has one son and two grandchildren. Her hobbies consist of gardening, horseback riding, and enjoying the outdoors.
James M. Omps
James received his M. Ed from the University of Virginia and a B.A. from Shepherd University. He has been an active member of the Omps family for over 14 years. James is Past President of the Winchester Shawnee Lions Club. He and his wife, Ellen, have three daughters: Carrie, Stephanie, and Elizabeth.
Gary has been a Funeral Assistant with Omps for 3 years. He grew up in Millwood, Virginia and graduated Clarke County High School. He enjoys many outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, golfing, traveling, and beach time in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He also is involved with the Frederick County Parks and Recreation. Gary has been married to his wife, Kay, for 34 years and together has two daughters and a son-in-law.
Raymond D. Steele
Ray is a graduate of Averett University. He is a 33-degree Master Mason and member for forty-three years. Ray and his wife have two daughters and one granddaughter. He treats every client with the respect and dignity they deserve during their difficult and trying time.
J. Jerome “Jerry” Begley
Jerry graduated from Hillsdale College in Hillsdale, Michigan. He has been a member of the Omps family for three years. His civic involvement includes Commissioner of the Boy Scouts of America and a member of the Independent Insurance Agents Association as well as the Professional Insurance Agents (PIA).
A native of Winchester, Frank graduated from Handley High School where he participated in varsity football and track. He enlisted in the United States Navy and was transfered to the United States Marine Corps where he served as a corpman in the Vietnam War from 1968-1969. He received a degree in Respiratory Therapy from Shenandoah College and was employed with Winchester Medical Center for 43 years. Frank recently retired as Corporate Director of Respiratory Services of Valley Health Systems. He served on the boards of the Northen Virginia Chapter of Respiratory Therapy, Asthma Camp for kids, Winchester/Frederick County Youth Football League and The Judges Athletic Association. He resides in Winchester with his wife Connie. They have two daughters and five grandchildren.
Ron, a Frederick County native, retired from the Department of Homeland Security-FEMA. He served within the federal goverment for 35 years. In 2012 Ron joined the Omps Funeral Home family. As a member of Bethel Lutheran Church, he sings tenor in the Worship Ensemble. Ron enjoys beekeeping and spending time at home with his wife Cherie. They have two daughters and two grandsons.
Veterans Affairs Coordinator/Funeral Assistant
David received his Masters of Strategic Studies in 2001. After serving in the military for thirty-five years, he retired and moved back to Winchester to be with family and friends. David is actively involved with the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2123 and the American Legion Post 21. He also participates in the Loyal Order of Moose-Lodge 1283 and the Order of Elks-Lodge 867. He enjoys auctioneering for charities, riding his motorcycle and spending time with his family. He has two children and four grandchildren.
Alan is a graduate from Virginia Tech with a degree in Education. Furthermore he just completed his training toward becoming a commissioned lay pastor. His civic involvement includes being the secretary of the French and Indian War Foundation. He is Past President and Treasurer of The Association of Operations Management (APICS). He also served as the secretary with the James Wood Athlete Association. He and his wife, Becky, have three children, and two granddaughters.
