Every now and again you meet a special person who can put a smile on your face simply by saying “hello.” That was Mr. Edwards—a true Southern gentleman, a great storyteller, a strong and tireless advisor and trustee to the Jones family, and one of the finest men I’ve had the pleasure to know. He will be missed! My most sincere condolences to Mrs. Edwards, her family, and all who counted Mr. Edwards as a friend.

Bob is remembered fondly as a decent, caring invidual who I had the pleasure of knowing as a friend and confidant. Like so many others, I am a better person for my association with Bob over the years. My best wishes and prayers go out to Betty and the Edward's family in the time of their grief.

Please know that I am truly sorry for your loss. It is never a good time and not anything we believe will happen, until it does. Please take time to grieve my friend, in your own way, and know that I am only a phone call away should you need something or just to talk. I was not fortunate enough to know or have ever met your dad, but I am blessed to have met his son and if that is any indication of the man he was, he must have been AMAZING. Know that your support network surrounds you and take solace in the fact that others care and will care and help you in this time of distress. All My Best Chip, Hank

The memories of Mr. Edwards will be with me forever. He was that kind of man. I have often shared the first time I went to a Trust meeting in Dallas. I feel like he gave me an initiation of sorts and so much like him. He and I shared a liking to walking so... An early morning walk from downtown Dallas to the Book Depository a quick look in the museum and back to the Adolphus the long way for an all day meeting. Quite the start to a long day and very memorable. He had much more stamina than I! After 25+ years of working and knowing Mr. Edwards he always offered invaluable guidance in work, to invigorating discussions on world events, to his smile, sense of humor, and support always! Talk about walking.. It was always an event to walk downtown in Winchester with him for it took a very long time. There was not a soul in Winchester that did not want to stop to say hello. Or a soul in Winchester he did not want to say hello to! He is missed in so many ways.

Beth Luby left a message on August 14, 2018:
I grew up in C & S Bank with Mr. Edwards and bank employees since my father had his banking career there as well. I can remember getting off the bus and sharing many afternoons going upstairs to see Mr. Edwards where he always gave me a treat. Mr. Edwards smile and sparkle in his eyes could light up a room. Mr. Edwards was a stand up man who will be greatly missed. I will hang tight to these precious memories that are so dear to me. Prayers lifted for Betty and the family.
