Glenn Lee Ford, 66, of Winchester, Virginia passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at Winchester Medical Center with his family by his side.
Glenn was born in 1952 in Winchester, Virginia, the son of the late Morris and Lorraine Ford. He graduated from John Handley High School, Class of 1972 and was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Vietnam era. Glenn did some recording and broadcasting commercials for Columbia School of Broadcasting, worked at DuPont in Front Royal after his military service and Sysroex Computer Company & Datalux. He retired from Virginia Premier Healthcare Transport. Glenn loved jazz music and was a saxophone player with the band, Shadows of Soul. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and enjoyed traveling.
Surviving is a son, Kevin Eugene Rideoutt (Rachel) of Ellicott City, Maryland; sisters, Linda Ann Jackson of Winchester, Virginia and Pamela Lorraine Brooks (Wesley) of Winchester, Virginia; nieces and nephews, Craig L. Jones (Diane) of Richmond, Virginia, Tana A. Jones (George), Mary L. Brooks, and Brandon L. Brooks all of Winchester, Virginia; great-nieces and nephews, Thomas Baylor, Jr. of Winchester, Virginia, Taryk Baylor of Ft. Lee, Virginia, Tyson Baylor of Winchester, Virginia, Destiny Shifflett of Stephens City, Virginia, Zion Brooks of Winchester, Virginia, and Elijah Brooks of Texas; grandchildren, Jude, Jacob, Christian, and Charlotte Rideoutt of Ellicott City, Maryland; and many other extended family members.
A visitation will be from 11 am to 12 pm on Wednesday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with a funeral service at 12 pm. Officiating will be Presiding Elder Charles Boles, Jr. A reception will follow the service at Omps Reception Center, Amherst Chapel. Interment with military honors will be in Mount Hebron Cemetery, Winchester, Virginia.
Serving as pallbearers will be Thomas Baylor, Sr., Thomas Baylor, Jr., Tyson Baylor, Malcom Vann, Eric Turner, Gregory Turner.
Honorary pallbearers will be William Crittenden and John Martin.
