Laura Bryant, “Grandma Kitty”, 48, of Frederick County, Virginia passed away on Sunday, February 3, 2019, at her home.
Laura was born in 1970 in Martinsburg, West Virginia, the daughter of Robert Spinks and Vickie VanBeem. She graduated from Hampshire County High School, Class of 1988 and attended Shepherd University. Laura was a District Manager for Hudson News Distribution, LLC. She enjoyed reading, especially novels by Stephen King; loved to play Elder Scrolls: Skyrim on the PC; and would absorb herself in Netflix watching Supernatural. Her favorite dessert was red velvet cake with coffee, as she was an avid coffee drinker. She liked to watch horse racing, especially the Kentucky Derby, and enjoyed going to Charles Town Race Track. Laura loved her cats.
Surviving is her fiancé, Larry Wayne VanMeter; son, Trevis Bryant (Katie) of Chesapeake, Virginia; daughter, Sara Chinchilla (Hugo) of Winchester, Virginia; grandchildren, Jak Bryant and Annabelle Chinchilla, both of Winchester, Virginia, Jaxon and Jamison Buchanan, both of Chesapeake, Virginia; and sister, Kelly Miller (Randy) of Ridgeley, West Virginia.
Laura is preceded in death by her step-father, Jake VanBeem and her grandmother, Betty Smith.
A memorial service will be conducted at 3 pm on Friday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with Pastor Roy Riley officiating. Interment will be private.
